Relocation also brings logistics and administrative challenges. To start the process, talk to your manager. They’ll need to know:

• the place where you are now;
• the place where you want to move;
• an approximate moving date;
• if you plan to stay there for a long or a short period. This is a crucial piece of information. If it is temporary (up to 1 year), there isn’t so much to do. If you’re going to move for the longer term (more than 1 year), we need to figure out if we need to update your current location in the salary tool and pick a new data point to be used in the following salary reviews.
