The Radical Candor quadrants: caring personally and challenging directly

Our culture is woven with supportive and timely feedback, so that every step you take is both acknowledged and guided. We embody “Radical Candor”: we offer straightforward, honest feedback because your growth and development genuinely matter to us.

Feedback is continuous, not saved for reviews. Your manager gives and asks for it in your 1:1s, and you can give or request feedback from anyone on Bob. Areas for development are identified and tackled as they come up, which is why nothing in your performance review should come as a surprise.

Feedback on Bob is either public, usually praise tied to one of our values, or visible only to the person’s manager. Manager-only feedback hasn’t reached the person yet: it’s up to the manager to bring it into a 1:1, so it isn’t news to them by the time of a review.

Positive feedback isn’t kept in the shadows. We broadcast it in #praise, transforming individual achievements into collective victories we all cheer for.

We run company surveys to make sure everyone’s voice is heard. Twice a year, in spring and fall, our anonymous engagement surveys on Bob ask you to reflect on your journey, your aspirations, and how the company is doing. After gathering the results, we discuss them transparently and create action plans.
