Conferences

Attending conferences is a vital part of your professional growth. They offer knowledge, emerging industry trends, and networking opportunities, and you bring back fresh perspectives that enrich both your development and our collective expertise.

Budget

Every year, you can use up to 4 work days and €400/$500 for tickets. If you want an extra budget approved, discuss it with your manager.

There are a couple of exceptions to this rule:

• If you’re in the marketing team for a conference and going there as a Nebulab representative, the conference won’t be deducted from your budget.
• In general, speaking engagements also count towards your budget (unless the conference offers a reimbursement for their speakers). However, if you have been invited to speak at a conference that is particularly interesting to Nebulab, reach out to your manager and they may be able to work something out.

Travel and accommodation follow the Travel policy, and tickets are reimbursed as described in Expenses.

Choosing a conference

We will gladly help you attend any conference that is somewhat work-related. Finding the right one is always a challenge, but we’ve attended many, so we can help you out: ask your manager, and join #learning-conferences.

Requesting the days

Request conference days on Bob with “Conference 🎙️”, and add the name of the conference in the comments so we know where you want to go. See Time off.
